01

Begin with the exact course

A country-level exam list cannot tell you what a particular UK course requires. Check the university’s current admissions page for the programme and application cycle. Some participating courses use UCAT, TMUA, ESAT or TARA, but these tests have different roles. Write the exact requirement and relevant official source before selecting a booking.

02

Handle English evidence separately

Check which English qualification and version the institution accepts. If a separate official application purpose requires a SELT, consult GOV.UK for that specific route. University recognition and government approval are different questions. A test that meets one need should not be assumed to meet both. We provide registration guidance and source navigation, not immigration or legal advice.

03

Join the planning tasks carefully

Keep the application deadline, required test, result reporting and practical travel tasks in separate lines. Use provider-published booking information rather than an old country guide for dates. If you change course or institution, review your test choice again. Our guides help organise the questions; the university and provider confirm the requirements.

04

Build a course-level admissions map

For each shortlisted UK course, create a row containing the entry year, required assessment, language evidence and the official course link. TMUA, ESAT and TARA belong to UAT-UK, but that does not mean every competitive course requests all three. UCAT concerns a different admissions context. Identify the examination actually named by each course and keep any subject-selection instruction beside it. If a shortlist changes, update the table before continuing the same preparation. This makes the test choice traceable to a published requirement and avoids collecting examinations because they sound prestigious. The institution decides how assessment evidence fits its selection process.

05

Coordinate UAT-UK and the university application

The examination account, appointment and university application are separate tasks. Use the current UAT-UK and Pearson instructions for the relevant admissions cycle, then check the receiving course’s requirements. Keep candidate details consistent and add any required application identifier through the official route. Do not copy last year’s dates from a preparation blog. If an access arrangement or supporting document is needed, plan that before the booking deadline rather than treating it as a test-day request. A completed appointment should have its own confirmation record, while the university application remains a separate milestone with its own submission status.

06

Read university English and visa evidence independently

An English-language condition from a university and a requirement from a UK visa route are issued for different purposes. Check both authorities where both apply, including any exact SELT product and approved-location condition. A university’s acceptance of a result does not automatically settle every immigration question. Equally, do not assume an additional test is necessary without reading the applicable rules. Our SELT UKVI and English-category pages explain how to identify the right questions. For an individual visa or admission decision, use the relevant official guidance and decision-maker. Keep each answer attached to the correct application rather than merging them into a single note.
